PBJ PRESCHOOL

PBJ Preschool curriculum is a research-based, extensively field tested, developmentally appropriate preschool program that teaches your whole child - academically, physically, emotionally, and socially. PBJ Preschool is rooted in the understanding that preschoolers learn best through fun and directed games, not worksheets and memorization. Instead of addressing only a few areas of learning (like colors, letters, and shapes), as some curriculums do PBJ Preschool teaches and reinforces fine and gross motor skills, visual and auditory discrimination, listening and following directions, pre-reading skills and literacy, mathematical sense and numbers, social skills, deductive reasoning, and higher-level thinking, and LOTS more! Fine art instruction, music, science, cooking, drama, and other subjects are also woven in.

Hey, I’m Becky Flanary

My name is Becky Flanary. I have a bachelor’s degree from Utah State University in Psychology with a minor in Family, Consumer, and Human Development in 2007. I taught in public school for a short time, and I am in my fifth year of homeschooling. I also have five children. Three of them are adults now, and we still have two at home. I love children of all ages, and I can’t wait for your child to be a part of PBJ Preschool.

Philosophy-

At PBJ Preschool, we are dedicated to children and their learning. We feel that:

  • Kids learn best when learning is fun, relevant, meaningful, and developmentally appropriate.
  • Personal attention and one-on-one interaction by a caring adult create an ideal learning situation.
  • A quality preschool needs to completely prepare a child for school–physically, emotionally, academically, and socially.
  • A quality preschool program provides the foundational learning necessary for a child to succeed in kindergarten and beyond.
  • A quality preschool program has a balance of teacher-directed structured learning, creative expression, and child-initiated free play/discovery.
  • Each child should be allowed to build academic skills at their individual level and pace.
  • A loving environment fosters kindness, respect, and peaceful problem-solving.

Kids learn best when learning is fun, relevant, and meaningful.
